In a significant blow to their season, Galatasaray has confirmed that their star Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, has successfully undergone forearm surgery

The injury occurred during a high-stakes UEFA Champions League Round of 16 encounter against Liverpool at the iconic Anfield stadium.

The 27-year-old forward suffered a fractured forearm following a heavy aerial collision with defender Ibrahima Konaté. Although he attempted to play through the pain with a bandaged arm, the severity of the fracture forced him off at half-time.

The Turkish giants released an official statement confirming the procedure took place at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, led by the highly respected club doctor, Op. Dr. Yener İnce

With 19 goals and seven assists already this season, Osimhen’s four-week recovery period comes at a critical juncture.

The Istanbul-based club, which recently exited the Champions League after a 4-1 aggregate loss, will now have to navigate their domestic campaign without their most prolific attacking threat.
