A dramatic scene unfolded on Monday at the Maitama residence of the former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.
Following a private meeting with former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, security agents reportedly moved in to enforce a property investigation.
However, the situation quickly escalated into a verbal legal confrontation when Malami stepped out to challenge the security operatives on their authority.
In a viral video capturing the heat of the moment, the former chief law officer questioned if the agents were simply trying to embarrass him publicly.
Malami’s primary defense rested on the validity of the court order being used by the officials. He argued that the legal directives they cited were not only vague but had already expired.
By demanding to see clear legal backing, Malami highlighted a potential breach of due process, insisting that since the matter was already pending in court, the agents had no right to mark his home as being under probation without current documentation.
