The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a fresh verbal assault against Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, suggesting that the governor is not cut out for the rigors of high-stakes politics.
Speaking during the 107th NEC meeting of his PDP faction in Abuja, the former Rivers State Governor claimed that Makinde should have remained a private contractor if he wasn't prepared for the challenges of party leadership.
Wike’s comments serve as a sharp "go home and rest" directive to his rival, highlighting the deep internal friction within the Peoples Democratic Party.
Wike’s outburst follows recent accusations by Governor Makinde, who publicly claimed that the Minister is working behind the scenes to weaken the opposition party in favor of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
In a bold defense, Wike mocked the recent wave of defections where several PDP Governors joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He pointed out that while his accusers are nowhere to be found, he remains firmly within the party, focusing on true reconciliation and "quality over quantity" in terms of political representation.
