Britain, France, and Greece are sending advanced anti-drone systems and warships to Cyprus. This follows a drone attack on a British airbase on the island, which has raised fears that the conflict in the Middle East is spreading to European neighbors.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the UK is sending high-tech helicopters and the HMS Dragon (a powerful air defense ship) to the region after the runway at RAF Akrotiri was damaged.

President Emmanuel Macron is sending anti-missile systems and a frigate to help stabilize the island and protect it from further aerial attacks.

Greece has already sent four F-16 fighter jets and two warships. One of these ships uses the "Centauros" system, which can jam and disable low-flying drones before they hit their targets.

The attack on Monday was so close to local neighborhoods that hundreds of Cypriot families had to flee their homes for safety. Experts believe the drone was Iranian-made and launched by groups in Lebanon.
