Nigeria’s Super Falcons bounced back in style on Tuesday night, defeating the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 3-1 in Yaoundé.
After losing to the same team just three days earlier, the Nigerian women showed great character to level the two-match friendly series.
Cameroon took an early lead with a goal in the 7th minute. However, the Super Falcons didn't panic and quickly took control of the game.
Chinwendu Ihezuo scored a powerful header in the 32nd minute to level the score. Just before halftime, Rinsola Babajide scored from a scramble in the box to put Nigeria ahead 2-1.
In the second half, star player Michelle Alozie scored a spectacular "flying header" from a cross by captain Rasheedat Ajibade to make it 3-1.
Coach Justin Madugu made seven changes to the starting lineup, creating a more aggressive team that dominated the midfield and kept Cameroon on the defensive.
