Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has moved to fill the empty seats in his government by sending three new names to the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
This follows the high-profile resignation of Adamu Atiku Abubakar, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who recently left his post as Commissioner for Works.
The Governor has picked Sali Idris (Maiha), Muhammed Suleiman (Mubi North), and Chubado Mohammed (Jada) to join his leadership team.
Adamu Atiku Abubakar resigned because he chose to stay in the PDP instead of following Governor Fintiri to the APC. Two other commissioners, Tijjani Maksha and Afraimu Jingi, are also believed to have left their roles for the same reason.
The Speaker of the House, Bathiya Wesley, has asked the nominees to bring their CVs for a screening interview on Monday, March 9, 2026.
These new appointments signal that the Governor is moving forward with a new team that is fully aligned with his switch to the APC.
