The famous Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo (better known as Sunday Igboho), has issued a stinging response to allegations made by former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.
Through a statement by his media aide, Olayomi Koiki, Igboho dismissed claims that his activism is based on transactional politics.
He argued that his primary focus remains grassroots security in the South-West and that his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027 is a move protected by his inalienable constitutional rights.
Igboho slammed the characterization of his efforts as "amala politics," noting that he cannot be forced to align with figures like Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar.
He pointed out the hypocrisy in the accusations, asking how many protests Sowore actually organized to secure his freedom during his past legal troubles.
Furthermore, the statement highlighted that while some promote a nationwide revolution, Igboho’s priority is protecting lives from persistent violence and kidnappings.
He challenged his critics to look at the growing cases of banditry in states like Ondo before dismissing the urgent need for localized protection.
