Sowore Claims Nnamdi Kanu Rejected Secret Terms Accepted by Sunday Igboho

During a recent press briefing in Abuja, Omoyele Sowore made a bold comparison between two major separatist figures in Nigeria.

He alleged that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is still behind bars primarily because he refused to strike a deal with the federal government

Sowore suggested that the same "transactional" terms offered to Kanu over the last decade were allegedly accepted by Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho, which explains their different levels of freedom and current political standing.

The former presidential candidate argued that if Kanu had agreed to the state's demands, he would likely be a free man today, potentially even supporting the current administration in the South East.

Sowore praised Kanu's political approaches for being based on conviction rather than what he termed "Amala politics"—a local phrase for self-interest or "chop-I-chop" politics.

He warned that choosing the path of compromise could lead to a disgraced legacy, comparing the situation to past political figures who faded into obscurity after serving the interests of those in power.
