The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed Taiwo Oyedele as a Minister under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Following a successful screening on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced that Oyedele is now cleared to take over as the Minister of State for Finance.
Lawmakers unanimously supported Oyedele’s appointment after he answered questions about his plans for Nigeria’s economy.
Oyedele replaces Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been moved to a new role in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
Before this, Oyedele led the team that redesigned Nigeria’s tax laws. He is a world-class accountant with over 20 years of experience at PwC.
At 50 years old, Oyedele is not just a practitioner but also a professor at Babcock University and has studied at top schools like Harvard and Yale.
