Nigerian Afrobeats star Omah Lay has opened up about a painful breakup that happened at the worst possible time.
During the listening party for his new album, Clarity of Mind, the singer revealed that he lost a relationship he was deeply invested in while attending the Grammy Awards.
Despite the romance only lasting two months, Omah Lay admitted he was so serious about the lady that he was already planning for them to have a baby together.
The split happened exactly when Justin Bieber was performing at the Grammys. Omah Lay said he felt "embarrassed" and couldn't even focus on the prestigious event.
The singer confessed that whenever he falls in love, he "loses himself" because he gives 100% of his energy to his partner.
This heartbreak inspired his new song, "Don’t Love Me," where he warns future partners about his struggle to balance love and his own personal happiness.
