Renowned Plateau State cleric Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has revealed that he turned down multiple offers of asylum from foreign countries, including Australia and Austria.
Despite receiving death threats and reportedly having a bounty placed on his head by extremists, the religious leader insisted he will not flee Nigeria.
Rev. Dachomo, a leader in the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), stated that leaving for safety in Europe or Australia would mean abandoning his "flock" during a time of persecution.
The cleric has been a vocal critic of attacks on Christians in Plateau State. He confirmed that he has faced intense pressure and warnings from extremists due to his outspoken nature.
In a bold statement on Wednesday, he declared, "I am not a coward." He believes his duty is to remain in Barkin Ladi to support those facing similar dangers.
Although friends and family urged him to take the life-saving offers, Dachomo maintained that standing with his community is more important than his personal safety.
