The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction loyal to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has officially postponed all its high-level meetings, including the National Executive Council (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) sessions.

This surprise decision, announced on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, is a move to stop the internal fighting and settle the party’s crisis outside of court.

National Secretary Taofeek Arapaja explained that the meetings were put on hold to follow the Court of Appeal's advice to try and settle their differences peacefully.

A court in Ibadan recently paused the legal battle over the party’s controversial Ibadan convention, giving both sides a chance to make peace.

The faction says they are canceling the meetings to show they are serious about reconciliation and want what is best for the party's future.

If the two sides can’t agree on a solution privately, they still have the right to go back to court for a final judgment.
