The Nigerian Army has successfully taken back control of its Forward Operating Base in Ngoshe, Gwoza LGA, Borno State.

Supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, the military launched a powerful counter-offensive to flush out Boko Haram insurgents who had briefly occupied the town.

After a temporary withdrawal to avoid a massive ambush, troops returned with reinforcements to fully secure the town.

The operation was a joint effort involving soldiers, local vigilantes, and hunters who know the terrain well.

Following recent attacks, the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), met with service chiefs in Abuja to sharpen their battle strategies.

The military’s main focus is now on maintaining control and ensuring the safety of civilians in the Gwoza area.
