A Nigerian citizen is among over 100 people injured after Iranian missiles were intercepted over the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
As the Middle East conflict intensifies, stranded Nigerians in the Gulf region are now appealing to the Federal Government for urgent repatriation flights and safety measures.
The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that while most missiles were shot down, two hit land, causing 6 deaths and 122 injuries across various nationalities, including one Nigerian.
Iran launched these strikes in retaliation, claiming the UAE allowed the United States to use military bases on its soil for operations.
Since February 28, the UAE has detected 262 ballistic missiles. Their air defense systems successfully stopped 241 of them.
Nigerians living in popular spots like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are asking the Nigerian government to prepare for an emergency evacuation if the war gets worse.
