Nigerian football talent Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court.

The 19-year-old Molde FK player was found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent.

Along with the prison term, he was ordered to pay 10,000 Norwegian kroner in legal fees.

The ruling, delivered on March 10, 2026, aligns with what the prosecutors demanded.

Daga’s lawyer, Astrid Bolstad, stated the player is "shocked" and maintains that the encounter was consensual. He plans to appeal the decision.

While Daga has been training, Molde FK confirmed he will be removed from all matchday squads until the legal process is fully finished.

Before this case, Daga was a standout for Nigeria’s Flying Eagles at the 2023 U-20 World Cup and formerly played for Enyimba FC in the NPFL.
