The Nigerian Army has officially released video footage documenting the successful neutralization of 63 ISWAP terrorists during the foiled attack in Malam Fatori, Borno State.
The Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) troops, in a coordinated effort with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), utilized the visual data to confirm the death toll, which rose to 63 following a final battle damage assessment.
The video shows the moment armed drones used by the insurgents were intercepted and the subsequent precision air strikes that decimated the enemy’s concentration points.
A spokesperson for the military explained that the visual evidence is intended to counter misinformation and demonstrate the overwhelming firepower of the armed forces.
The footage highlights the "kill zone" created by the 68 Battalion, where the fleeing insurgents were trapped during their disorderly withdrawal toward the Arege area.
While the Nigerian Military initially reported 61 casualties, the updated video analysis confirmed two additional high-ranking commanders were among those killed, bringing the total to 63.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has praised the troops for their bravery, noting that the four soldiers wounded in the clip are recovering well.
