A major security threat was averted in Borno State this week as the Nigerian Military repelled a sophisticated early-morning raid by ISWAP terrorists

The insurgents employed modern tactics, including the deployment of armed drones, in a desperate attempt to infiltrate the military's defenses in the Malam Fatori general area.

The Operation Hadin Kai forces, demonstrating superior tactical coordination, utilized ground forces and air components to trap the invaders.

This synergy ensured that the 61 terrorists killed were neutralized before they could cause significant damage to the military infrastructure.

This operation highlighted the importance of international partnerships, as allied forces from Niger joined the fray with rapid strike passes that compounded the pressure on the fleeing insurgents

The use of advanced battle damage assessment and air interdiction strikes effectively denied the terrorists any freedom of movement, marking a major win for the Federal Government of Nigeria's security strategy.

Although four soldiers were wounded during the engagement, their injuries were reported as minor, and the area has been successfully secured. This victory reinforces the capability of the Nigerian Army to handle evolving threats in the Lake Chad region.
