Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri has cleared the air regarding his relationship with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking on Channels Television this Tuesday, the Governor insisted that there is no "bad blood" between them, even though they are now in different political parties.
Fintiri explained that while he moved to the APC and Atiku remains in the PDP, their personal relationship remains healthy. He described the move as a difference in "political ways" rather than a personal fight.
He defended his defection to the APC, saying it wasn't just about winning elections. Instead, he wanted to align Adamawa State with the ruling party to get more benefits and development for his people.
In a bold move, Fintiri stated that no politician from the North should run for President in 2027. He believes the South should be allowed to finish a full eight-year term to ensure fairness in Nigeria.
According to the Governor, skipping the North's turn in 2027 is the only way to show the world that Nigeria is "serious" about stable leadership and national unity.
