Iranian Military Claims Total Dominance of Persian Gulf, Dismisses Need for Underwater Mines

In a bold declaration of regional power, the Iranian military has announced that it has no plans to deploy underwater mines in the Persian Gulf

According to military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari, the Islamic Republic currently maintains "full and powerful control" over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman

The military leadership suggests that because their maritime dominance is already so absolute, such extreme defensive measures are currently unnecessary to protect their interests.

Zolfaghari emphasized that Tehran possesses the necessary naval strength to manage the region’s security independently.

He issued a stern warning to foreign powers, specifically those from outside the Middle East, stating they have no legal or tactical right to interfere in these territorial waters

This assertion of regional hegemony comes at a critical time for global energy security, as the Persian Gulf remains the world's most vital artery for oil shipments and liquefied natural gas.
