During the high-profile state visit of President Bola Tinubu to the United Kingdom, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) organized a massive protest in the UK to voice their grievances.

Gathering at iconic locations such as 10 Downing Street, Parliament Square, and the Nigerian High Commission, the demonstrators made their message loud and clear.

Waving Biafran flags and wearing traditional red caps, the group argued that the current administration does not deserve a royal salute given the ongoing human rights concerns and the continued detention of their leader.

The primary goal of the London protest was to call for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has remained in custody despite various legal challenges.

Protesters held placards with inscriptions such as "Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu," insisting that true peace cannot be achieved while political leaders are silenced.

This demonstration highlighted the deep-seated tensions within the diaspora community, as they used the international stage of the Nigeria state visit to draw global attention to their cause and challenge the legitimacy of the ceremonial honors being bestowed upon the Nigerian president by the British monarchy.
