A massive blast has rocked Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran following a series of Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian capital.

Early Saturday morning, March 7, 2026, residents in western Tehran reported hearing deafening explosions as thick smoke and fire filled the sky over one of the country's most important aviation hubs.

Videos on social media show flames on the airport grounds and aircraft on the tarmac reportedly caught in the fire.

Israeli officials confirmed the strikes were part of a larger operation targeting "high-priority" locations in Tehran.

Iranian air-defense systems were seen firing across the capital as the military tried to intercept the incoming missiles.

Mehrabad Airport is a dual-use facility, handling both passenger flights and military operations, making it a high-stakes target.
