Hadiza El-Rufai, the wife of the former Kaduna State Governor, has laughed off claims by the ICPC that "wiretapping" devices were found in her home.

Taking to social media on Tuesday, she joked that the investigators must have mistaken her basic banking tools for high-tech spy gear.

The anti-corruption agency (ICPC) told a court they found electronic devices capable of tapping phone calls during a search of the El-Rufai home in Abuja.

Hadiza mocked the report on X (formerly Twitter), writing: "You forgot to mention that you also took away my bank tokens. I swear to God, they are not wiretapping equipment."

The family insists that the "evidence" seized was just normal 21st-century items, like laptops, old mobile phones (some 20 years old), and USB flash drives.

This drama is part of a N1 billion lawsuit the former Governor filed against the ICPC for violating his rights. The ICPC wants the court to throw the case out, arguing their search was perfectly legal.
