Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has backed Sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s claim that the Nigerian government is fully aware of the names and locations of terrorists.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Sowore alleged that the authorities are "in bed" with criminals, making it easy for them to negotiate during kidnappings.
Sowore argued that the government can reach kidnappers quickly because they already have their contact details and internal connections.
He insisted that no major criminal is unknown to Nigerian security agencies, claiming that some even attend social events hosted by high-ranking officials.
Sowore described Gumi as a very smart man who is simply revealing an "open secret" about how the system works.
According to Sowore, if the government truly wanted to end terrorism today, they already have all the information needed to do so.
