The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a massive pay rise for the winners of its top club competitions.

Starting with the 2025/26 season, African teams will compete for millions of dollars more, helping to offset the high costs of traveling across the continent.

The winner of the CAF Champions League will now receive $6 million, a huge jump from the $4 million paid out last year.

The winner of the CAF Confederation Cup will take home $4 million, which is a 50% increase from the previous season.

This extra cash is a "welcome relief" for clubs that often spend more on expensive flights and hotels than they earn from playing in the tournament.

Under the leadership of President Patrice Motsepe, prize money has consistently gone up to make African football more professional and profitable.
