The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Federal Government to stop using "selective justice" against former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Justice Minister Abubakar Malami.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the party argued that the law should be applied equally to everyone, regardless of their political party.
The ADC believes the government is moving these leaders from one detention center to another just to keep them "out of circulation" rather than actually taking them to court.
The party reminded the public that both men are innocent until proven guilty and accused the government of using detention as a form of punishment before a trial even begins.
The ADC pointed out that other people facing serious charges—like passport forgery—have been granted bail and given quick trials, while El-Rufai and Malami remain stuck in a cycle of transfers.
If the government has real evidence, the ADC insists it should be presented in a transparent court immediately instead of keeping the men in prolonged custody.
