Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially left Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He is representing President Bola Tinubu at the 2026 African Union (AU) Summit, where leaders from across Africa are meeting to discuss the future of the continent.
The Main Details:
The Big Mission: Shettima will join other African Presidents for the 39th Session of the AU Assembly. His goal is to protect Nigeria’s interests and strengthen ties with our neighbors.
The Focus: This year, the meeting is all about water and sanitation. Leaders are working on a plan to make sure every African has access to clean water and safe toilets by the year 2063.
High-Level Meetings: Besides the main event, the VP will meet with top business and political leaders to bring more investment and economic opportunities back to Nigeria.
