The federal government is urging Nigerians to file their tax returns on time, warning that compliance is mandatory for employers and individuals.
Chairman Taiwo Oyedele notes many still fail to comply with self-assessment and annual filing requirements, despite clear tax laws.
Employers must submit annual returns for employees, including payroll projections, with the deadline fast approaching.
Individual taxpayers also have a legal responsibility to file returns, but compliance levels remain low nationwide.
Tax authorities are simplifying the filing process, but Oyedele stresses: "All of us must file our returns... You must file returns by 31st March of the year in respect of the previous fiscal year"
