Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has threatened to lead a forceful entry into the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Rivers State if the government denies him permission to hold a political rally.

Wike's group had applied for the stadium but was refused, prompting his warning: "Next time, if we apply and they refuse again, we will break it and nothing will happen".

Speaking in Port Harcourt at the inauguration of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Wike boasted Rivers State's political mobilisation lead, saying "Rivers State will always lead the way.

Support is not by mouth; we've shown commitment with action". He questioned the state government's commitment to President Tinubu's 2027 re-election, asking "How do you expect a reward?".

Wike declared politics has begun, with ward-level inaugurations next. "If you don't give us the venue, we will break it," he reiterated. Political reward comes from commitment, not finances: "You don't need N600 billion. All you need is commitment"
