The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has officially cleared the air, stating that it did not import a deadly poison called thallium sulphate

This response comes after former Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, claimed he had information that the agency brought 10 kilograms of the toxin into Nigeria.

A high-ranking official from the NSA’s office called the allegations completely false, flatly denying that any such transaction took place.

The former governor had earlier raised an alarm on social media, describing the chemical as a "tasteless and odorless" poison that could put the public at risk.

El-Rufai had asked the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, to provide proof of permits and explain if health agencies like NAFDAC were aware of the deal.

The NSA’s office maintains that the reports being circulated by opposition figures are incorrect.
