Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) officers have blocked a massive drug shipment at the Seme-Badagry border

During a midnight operation on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, they discovered 22 packages of cocaine worth a staggering ₦1 billion hidden inside a secret compartment of a Toyota Highlander.

The drugs, weighing roughly 25kg, were stashed in a specially built "bunker" underneath the car’s axle to avoid detection.

One 45-year-old man, identified as Adeniran Aliyu, was caught and arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt.

Customs has now handed the drugs, the suspect, and the vehicle over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for more testing and prosecution.

Officials stated that stopping these drugs is part of a larger fight against the organized crime and insecurity that often go hand-in-hand with drug trafficking.
