Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has raised an alarm over reports that the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) allegedly bought a highly dangerous chemical called thallium sulphate

Taking to social media on Sunday, El-Rufai shared an official letter asking the government to explain why it needs such a toxic substance.

El-Rufai described it as a "very dangerous toxin" that has no smell or color, making it nearly impossible to detect.

He is asking for six specific answers, including what the poison will be used for, who supplied it from Poland, and how it is being safely stored.

He wants to know if health agencies like NAFDAC and the NCDC are involved to ensure that the public is not at risk of accidental poisoning.
