IPOB has called for a shutdown in South-East states on Monday, February 2, in solidarity with Onitsha traders.
The move counters Governor Chukwuma Soludo's order for traders to resume activities on Mondays
In a statement, IPOB's Emma Powerful says the sit-at-home is peaceful, responding to Soludo's "tyrannical actions" against traders observing the Monday shutdown.
The group cites Soludo's shutdown of Onitsha Main Market and threats of demolition and land revocation as reasons for the protest.
The shutdown applies to all five South-East states.
