Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has sent a message of encouragement to his nephew, Davido, after the Nigerian music star's loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Davido had taken to social media to express gratitude and faith despite not winning, posting "Oluwa Dey my side" (God is on my side).
Governor Adeleke, a longtime supporter of Davido's music, responded with a message of pride: "Proud of you always @davido." Davido replied affectionately, "Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR."
Davido was nominated for Best African Music Performance for his collaboration "With You" featuring Omah Lay, but lost to South African singer Tyla, who won her second award in the category.
