Cocaine Bust: NDLEA Arrests Nigerian Smuggling Drugs From Brazil

NDLEA has arrested a Brazil-based Nigerian businessman, Uche Franklin Onyekwere, 47, at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport for smuggling 1.6kg of cocaine hidden in his shoes and body.

Onyekwere claimed he bought the cocaine in Brazil to resell in Nigeria, aiming to boost his toy business and fund his child's naming ceremony. 

Separately, NDLEA seized 1,183kg of cannabis at Tincan seaport, concealed in vehicles imported from Canada.

Other busts include 2,735kg of skunk in Niger State, 473kg of skunk in Ondo State, and arrests in Edo, Anambra, and Kano for various drug offenses.
