Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reopened Onitsha Main Market, effective Monday, February 2, 2026, after a week-long closure.
The closure was imposed when traders complied with IPOB's Monday sit-at-home order. Soludo warns traders to ignore IPOB's protest call, assuring security. IPOB, however, maintains its sit-at-home directive, calling Soludo's action "tyrannical".
The police say they're prepared to maintain law and order in Anambra State.
