The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to arraign suspects linked to the recent killings in Benue State on Monday, February 2, 2026, before Justice Joyce Abdul-Malik of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

This follows a thorough investigation and collaboration with various government agencies, according to a statement by Kamarudeen Ogundele, media aide to Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi.

The suspects are accused of involvement in the June 14, 2025, attack on Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, which resulted in numerous deaths and displacement of thousands.

The AGF's office has assured Nigerians that justice will be served, emphasizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration commitment to protecting lives and property as enshrined in the constitution
