Nigeria's Defence Minister, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has pledged his full support to President Bola Tinubu's administration, stating that he's committed to helping the president secure a second term.
In an interview on Channels Television's 'Sunday Politics', Musa emphasized that Tinubu deserves the backing of all Nigerians, saying, "Mr President needs all support, totally.
I'll give him all my support, whatever I can do to make sure that he succeeds in his call of duty, including moving forward to the second term".
Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, also hinted at possibly joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), revealing he's currently in a transitional phase towards becoming a politician.
When asked if he considers himself a politician, he replied, "I've not transited yet. I'm in transition". On his potential APC membership, he added, "Not yet, but I think I'll be. Definitely. The APC has given me the platform to present myself right from when I was CDS till date, so why not?".
As the current Defence Minister, Musa previously served as the 18th Chief of Defence Staff from June 23, 2023, until his retirement on October 30, 2025.
His comments come amid a wave of defections to the APC, with several governors from opposition parties joining the ruling party
