Abuja Protest Alert: Police Urge NLC To Postpone Over Security Concerns

The FCT Police Command is asking the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to postpone its planned protest in support of striking FCDA workers. 

The police have intel that some groups, including the Shiite Islamic Sect, might try to disrupt the event and cause trouble.

The NLC had planned to hold a solidarity rally on February 3, but the police are urging them to reschedule to ensure public safety and prevent any breakdown of law and order. 

The command wants to protect residents' rights to safety and freedom of movement.

The police are committed to maintaining peace and security in the FCT and are asking for citizens' cooperation. 

The NLC and TUC had announced the rally to support FCDA workers who are on strike over unpaid salaries.
