Iyanya Says "No" to Love for Now

Nigerian singer Iyanya has opened up about why he's not prioritizing serious relationships or marriage. 

In a recent Afropolitan podcast episode, he shared that past experiences with manipulative girlfriends have left him with commitment issues.

These women would often threaten to tarnish his image on social media during misunderstandings, which has made him cautious.

Iyanya, who's been in the music industry for 17 years, admits he's not mentally ready for a serious commitment. "I'm not thinking of a serious relationship or marriage because I'm not mentally ready yet. 

If you're patient and stick around until I get to a convenient space, then we can do it," he said.

He's currently embracing celibacy, citing struggles with commitment due to past traumas. "To be committed is one of the hardest things for me to do. 

I've been committed several times as a celebrity and each time, I got hurt," Iyanya explained.
