Dangote Loses Out: Imported Petrol Now Cheaper

 

Dangote Refinery's petrol price hike has backfired, with imported fuel now cheaper at N728.88 per litre compared to Dangote's N799 gantry price. MRS filling stations have hiked prices to N839 per litre following Dangote's increase.

The refinery cited post-festive season adjustments and market stability for the price realignment. Dangote Group says it's committed to energy security and price stability, supplying 50 million litres daily.

Critics say Dangote's price cut in December was to dominate the market; he's accused of seeking monopoly. Importers may now undercut Dangote's prices.
