The controversy surrounding the Minister of Works, David Umahi, has taken a sharp turn as lead activist lawyer Marshal Abubakar accuses his former client, Tracy Ohiri, of spreading a malicious narrative.
Abubakar stated that without the intervention of the activist community—including FlagboyNg and Senator Ireti Kingibe—Ohiri would likely be in prison today.
He explained that he successfully secured her bail in court after a long standoff, only for her to turn against her supporters when her financial demands were not met.
According to Abubakar, the $70,000 payment facilitated by Barrister Joseph Ekumankama was a gesture for peace, not an admission of liability or debt.
He stressed that Ms. Tracy Ohiri failed to produce a single piece of video evidence or paper trails to back her claims of a long-standing debt.
After a failed meeting where Ohiri allegedly "threw tantrums," she reportedly demanded ₦300 million from the lawyer himself, claiming he was responsible for her lost business.
Abubakar described the experience as a "painful lesson" and hinted that a lawsuit is imminent to address the falsehoods being circulated online.
