Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially touched down in Lagos State to deliver a comprehensive security report to President Bola Tinubu.
This high-level meeting follows the Vice President's recent on-the-spot assessment of the devastating coordinated suicide bombings that recently shook Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
Acting on the President's direct instructions, Shettima spent time in the North East evaluating the security situation on the ground and commiserating with grieving families.
The tragic explosions, which occurred at the Maiduguri Monday Market and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, resulted in at least 23 confirmed fatalities and over 100 citizens injured.
During his visit to the teaching hospital, the Vice President condemned the acts as "barbaric," emphasizing that no political or religious cause justifies the targeting of innocent civilians.
Following this crucial security briefing, Shettima is expected to lead a delegation of serving governors to perform a Sallah homage to the President at his Lagos residence.
