The Turkish giants, Galatasaray, are currently on high alert following the arrival of their star Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, in Istanbul.
The 27-year-old forward landed on Sunday night to undergo a series of decisive scans on Monday morning.
These medical checks are intended to assess the severity of an arm fracture sustained during a high-stakes UEFA Champions League encounter against Liverpool.
The primary concern for the medical team is whether the right forearm fracture will require invasive surgery, a decision that could dictate the player's availability for the remainder of the season.
The injury occurred at Anfield after a heavy challenge from Ibrahima Konaté.
Although the resilient Super Eagles star managed to finish the first half, he was substituted during the interval after Galatasaray's medical team identified the risk of a break.
Subsequent hospital tests confirmed the fracture, and the arm was immediately placed in a protective cast. If surgery is deemed necessary, the club fears a lengthy lay-off of up to five months.
This would be a devastating blow to the team’s Süper Lig title ambitions, considering Osimhen has been their most lethal weapon, contributing 19 goals and 7 assists in just 29 appearances this term.
