President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that U.S. military forces have "destroyed and sunk" nine Iranian naval vessels as part of a major ongoing offensive.
According to the President, the strikes have severely damaged Iran’s maritime strength and wiped out their naval headquarters.
In a social media update, Trump stated that the nine ships included some "relatively large and important" vessels. He warned that American forces are "going after the rest" until they are all at the bottom of the sea.
Beyond the ships, the President confirmed that a separate attack "largely destroyed" Iran’s Naval Headquarters, further crippling their ability to coordinate sea operations.
These naval strikes are part of "Operation Epic Fury," a massive joint campaign with Israel that began on Saturday and has already targeted over 1,000 sites across Iran.
This news follows the confirmed death of Iran’s Supreme Leader and dozens of other top officials. The U.S. military also reported its first casualties of the conflict, with three service members killed in action.
