Former Minister Rotimi Amaechi has raised a massive alarm, accusing the President Bola Tinubu-led government of presiding over the literal destruction of Nigerian lives.
Reacting to the horrific Monday night bombing incident in Maiduguri, Borno State, Amaechi stated that the incumbent government has proven to be "abysmally incompetent."
He argued that while ordinary citizens are forced to mourn and live in fear, the nation's leaders are living lavishly and ostentatiously, seemingly detached from the daily reality of the people they are meant to protect.
In a deeply emotional statement, the former minister insisted that the Maiduguri bombings serve as a "damning indictment" of a leadership that has become indifferent to the sufferings and death caused by ravaging bandits.
He criticized the presidency for issuing hollow statements while the commander-in-chief is seen "dining and partying" abroad.
Amaechi’s core message is clear: the most sacred duty of any leader is the protection of life, and since this administration has "abandoned that responsibility," he believes the President has failed woefully and should consider stepping down.
