The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced its plan to appeal to the Supreme Court following a major ruling by the Court of Appeal on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Despite a legal setback regarding party leadership, the PDP insists it will continue the fight to "rescue" the party.
The Court of Appeal recently upheld the suspension of the National Legal Adviser and other key officers. It also stopped INEC from recognizing the party's National Convention held in Ibadan in November 2025.
Factional spokesperson Ini Ememobong stated that the party has already instructed lawyers to head to the Supreme Court—the highest court in Nigeria—to fix what they call a "hardship" for their members.
The party is currently dealing with deep divisions, with leadership accusing some members of being "government agents" pretending to be opposition leaders.
The PDP is urging its supporters to stay strong and "stand firm," promising that the final court victory will settle the leadership crisis once and for all.
