Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on the aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop fighting in court and focus on rebuilding the party.

Following a major victory at the Court of Appeal, Wike believes it is time for all factions to unite before the party destroys itself.

Wike described the recent ruling—which canceled the Ibadan Convention—as a win for the rule of law. He noted that the court proved the old leaders' time was up.

He warned that taking the case to the Supreme Court is a "self-destructive" move that only hurts the party’s chances in future elections.

With the Ibadan meeting declared invalid, Wike confirmed that the National Caretaker Committee is the only legal body currently running the PDP to avoid a total shutdown.

A fresh National Convention is now set for March 29 and 30, 2026. Since the APC is using Eagle Square, the PDP will hold its meeting at the Velodrome in Abuja.
