Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards have issued a stern warning to the United States against sending warships to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz

This strategic waterway is the world's most important route for global oil shipments, and it has become a major flashpoint as the Middle East conflict enters its second week.

Spokesman Ali Mohammad Naini warned that Iranian forces are "waiting" for the US Navy. He reminded the US of the 1987 "Bridgeton" incident, where a massive American tanker hit a mine, suggesting similar dangers await today.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage connecting the Persian Gulf to the open sea. If it is blocked or becomes a war zone, global oil prices could skyrocket.

The warning comes after the US Energy Secretary revealed plans to use the Navy to protect ships passing through the area to prevent further disruptions.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian supported the military's stance, stating on national TV that Iran will never surrender to the US or Israel, regardless of military strikes.
