The former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has broken his silence regarding his removal from office by President Bola Tinubu, describing the transition as a fulfillment of God's plan.

Speaking at a special retirement thanksgiving service held in Abuja, Egbetokun revealed that his entire career was guided by faith.

He noted that his initial appointment came as a complete surprise, prompting him to seek spiritual guidance the moment he stepped into the role.

During the service, which also marked the opening of a new Police Force Chaplaincy building, Egbetokun shared that he made three specific requests to God upon becoming the country's top cop.

He asked for the wisdom to lead, the grace to finish his term well, and a plea not to remain in the position a single day longer than permitted by heaven.

He expressed deep gratitude that these prayers were answered, emphasizing that his commitment to professionalism and integrity was his primary focus while leading the nation's internal security forces.
