In a significant televised address on Saturday, March 7, 2026, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced a change in military strategy, promising that Iran will not invade or attack its neighbors.

This statement comes after a week of intense conflict involving the United States and Israel, which saw Iranian missiles striking several Gulf nations.

President Pezeshkian personally apologized to neighboring countries—including the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait—that were hit during Iran's retaliatory strikes against U.S. military bases.

A directive has been issued to the Iranian armed forces to halt all attacks on neighboring territories unless those countries attack Iran first.

The President urged Middle Eastern nations to work together to establish "peace and calm" instead of acting as "puppets" for foreign powers.

Despite the peaceful message, Qatar's Ministry of Defence reported intercepting a missile shortly after the speech, highlighting the continued volatility in the region.
